XPVIM 95

Independent Video from Mexico

OBORO GALLERY

1995

The cover of the catalogue shows a portrait of Zapata with a TV on his head.
I wanted to bring together a "revolution" concept next to the "video" , a graphic representation (icon / symbol) "video revolution", a game of ideograms and fractured narratives. Trying not to ignore the political turmoil and historic moment that the country is going through.

We installed 12 different "stations" at Oboro for the XPVIM show.
You could watch a 40 minute show per station.

XPVIM put together the work of 44 mexican videoartists.

THE WORLD

Monitor hanging from a hamac in order to be
viewed towards the ceiling

We took advantage of all the spaces of the gallery, the corridor, the storage room, etc. some of them never used before
in order to have a good sound volume within stations without distourbing the next station
